The designer Jacques Gaspo from Foodtastic (behind La Belle & La Boeuf, Souvlaki Bar, Carlos & Pepe’s, Le Blossom, the new Nickels and Bacaro Pizzeria) developped Gatto Matto over a two year period.
The avant-garde and modern Italian menu offered at Gatto Matto has been developed by our talented chef, Ara Ekmekdjian. This multifaceted chef initially trained in art of classic French cuisine under Richard Bastien at Lemeac. He then turned his attention to sharpening his Italian culinary skills at Bice (now called Beatrice). His desire to master his craft later drove him to join the creative team at Le Chien Fumant, where he worked tirelessly to attain the rank of chef de cuisine. We are pleased that he’s now found a new home at Gatto Matto.
Gatto Matto is a wine bar. We are specialized in wine: glass, bottle, discovery, combination, private imports, bubbles). The menu by the glass changes regularly to allow the amateurs to taste several rare wines without having to buy a full bottle. Our sommelier expert Olivier Ferron (owner at Vinnie Gambini Boisbriand and Gatto Matto) will be happy to have a drink and chat with you.
