First stop: Explore new flavours at the Fromagerie du Vieux-St-François
Start your day at the Fromagerie du Vieux St-François, Laval’s first artisanal cheese shop specializing in transforming goat’s milk into cheese (such as the famous cheese curds), yogurt, and even gelato. In addition to sampling a wide selection of cheeses, including the famous Bouchées d’Amour, group members will have the opportunity to learn about the cheese shop’s history, artisanal production methods, and how milk is transformed into various products, as well as life on the farm with the stars of the show: the goats!
Second stop: Pick your own berries at the Marineau farm
Continue your agritourism experience by visiting one of Laval’s oldest farms and a cornerstone of Laval’s agricultural community, the Marineau Farm. Visitors can take advantage of this stop to pick berries (strawberries and blueberries, depending on the season), which they can enjoy right there, as well as sample delicious products made using family recipes, including the famous potato fritters!
Third stop: Wine tasting at Château Taillefer Lafon
The Château Taillefer Lafon, the first winery in Quebec authorized to use the term “Château,” offers a stroll through its noble and hybrid vineyards, followed by a surprising tasting experience for both wine enthusiasts and experts alike.
