Description

Adults and kids will be captivated by the interactive permanent exhibition Le chemin de l’eau: de la rivière à la rivière (the water’s path: from river to river). Supported by artefacts, it’s the ideal activity for learning more about water and its challenges. A sea of information on water!

Year-round

River Rally

This route takes you around Laval Island to discover the many facets of its rivers. Wetlands, beaches, conservation areas, mills and dams, water treatment plants, or simply magnificent riverside landscapes… what else do our rivers have in store? The route includes stops at historic sites and river access points. You can enjoy this activity by bike, car, motorcycle, or on foot, using the “Rallye des Rivières” mobile app, which turns the experience into a fun, interactive game for both adults and children.

Exhibitions

  • The Water's Journey: From River to River

The C.I.EAU’s permanent exhibition, “The Water’s Journey: From River to River,” allows visitors to explore ten themes that trace the path of water in an urban environment. Modules featuring interactive activities and discoveries illustrate the evolution of drinking water treatment, from its collection from the river through the various stages of purification and distribution to its use in the home. For the whole family, ages 6 and up.

  • A History of Water Quality

The exhibition traces the history of wastewater treatment in Quebec from the early 20th century to the present day, and explores its impact on the water quality of Quebec’s rivers and the St. Lawrence River. Take a journey back in time to discover how we might restore clean water and learn about the technologies of the future! And to top it all off: a virtual reality tour of a drinking water treatment plant awaits you!
