Laval, September 4, 2025
For immediate release

THE C.I.EAU UNVEILS THE EXHIBITION "MOUVEMENTS DANS L’EAU" BY HÉLÈNE DÉRY

A poetic contemplation of the movement of water through shapes, lines, and light

From September 19 to November 30, 2025, the Water Interpretation Center (C.I.EAU) will present the exhibition *Mouvements dans l’eau*, a series of works by professional artist Hélène Déry, also known as Hédé.

Held at the André-Perrault Gallery, this exhibition explores the relationship between water, memory, and artistic creation through linocuts, monotypes, and woodcuts.

Through her prints, the artist reveals the beauty of the foam, waves, bubbles, and reflections, inspired by nature and the rhythm of jazz. “Water is always in motion, like the passing of time. It can be clear and transparent, or dark and mysterious like a mirror,” explains Hédé.

The exhibition offers an artistic and poetic exploration of the world of water. It invites visitors to reflect on both its vital importance and its ability to inspire creativity. The works on display will also be available for purchase directly from the artist.

The C.I.EAU invites the media, partners, and special guests to a preview of the exhibition *Mouvements dans l’eau* at an opening reception to be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

By reservation, participants will have the opportunity to speak with artist Hélène Déry and view her works in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests will also be offered a tour of the C.I.EAU’s permanent exhibition.

WORKSHOP REGISTRATION

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the variety of techniques used by Hédé, including monotype, linocut, and woodcut, and to observe how each technique captures the movement of water in a different way. The experience combines observation and participation, linking the contemplation of the works in the exhibition to the act of creating one’s own print, thereby giving visitors a concrete understanding of the artistic process and the materiality of printmaking.

With the help of our enthusiastic guides, visitors can take part in interactive lab workshops!

Participants are welcome to stay until 5 p.m. to round out their experience with a self-guided tour of the Water Trail, from river to river, and the temporary exhibition *Movements in Water* at the C.I.EAU.
