Illumi kicks off its fourth season tomorrow night with its Halloween special

@ILLUMILAVAL – In keeping with the new Quebec tradition established by Normand Latourelle in 2019, the arrival of fall coincides with the opening of illumi – Féerie de Lumières in Laval. The 25 million lights of the world’s largest multimedia light show will be lit up starting tomorrow evening to welcome the first visitors to this 4th edition, which promises to be more spectacular than ever! Quebecers and tourists from across the country and overseas will discover illumi’s highlights and must-see attractions, as well as several new features. SCARE AT ILLUMI
illumi’s long-awaited Halloween special is back for the month of October. The displays and settings offer visitors of all ages an atmosphere filled with the colors of fall and Halloween, accompanied by soundtracks from classic horror films that are sure to give you goosebumps. Young and old alike can venture among the hundreds of pumpkins, skeletons, bats, witches, monsters, and ghosts that populate the various worlds of the Féerie de Lumières. In this themed universe, more than 2,000 jack-o’-lanterns of all shapes and sizes welcome visitors for striking, Instagram-worthy moments.

NEW THEMED WORLDS
For the 2022–2023 season, illumi unveils themed worlds and structures never seen before. The fourth edition of illumi features five new fantastical worlds and additions to the “fan favorites.”
Among the worlds revealed this year, visitors will have the pleasure of discovering, among others, AIR ILLUMI, where airplanes, helicopters, and rockets will dazzle the eyes. As for LE VIRAGE VERT, it will turn heads with its giant frogs, crocodiles, lizards, and other green creatures. L’ENVOLÉE FANTASTIQUE will appeal to adventurers with its hot-air balloons, each more impressive, original, and colorful than the last. The VILLAGE FARFELU, where excess, eccentricity, and originality are the order of the day, invites you on an extraordinary stroll where intersections have horns, houses are whimsical, and nooks and crannies are quirky. We promise you’ve never seen anything like it! … The UNDERWATER TUNNEL offers a completely different and even more immersive experience than ever before, with high-definition projections and animations that will plunge visitors into the heart of the ocean. Entering this underwater tunnel feels like stepping through a virtual portal to the ocean’s depths, thanks to projections on a 180-degree dome. Taking visitors on a scuba diving excursion, this extraordinary adventure immerses them and transports them to an incredible abyss where they can encounter sharks, rays, fish, and the largest mammals on the planet: the majestic whales.

The organizers of illumi also promise an exciting lineup of events throughout the season, including the return of the famous dog-themed nights, which will be announced and added to the calendar shortly.

Those who experienced the magic of illumi last year will be delighted by the return of some of the most popular scenes, includingCAVALIA HORSES, THE MAGICAL FOREST, and THE JURASSIC KINGDOM, among others. There are even more stars of light in THE WORLD OF SNOW, with an expanded and even more magical version. And let’s not forget the famous TREE OF LIGHTS—the largest tree of its kind in the world—which remains a hallmark of illumi. In mid-November, the holiday edition of illumi will be set up, featuring several thousand light displays in winter colors.

A total of 25 million LED bulbs bring thousands of dazzling structures to life. Illumi offers a truly epic experience—an imaginary adventure for young and old alike. Visitors journey along spectacular routes, on foot or by car, through worlds that are even more impressive. About a hundred workers have been busy setting up Illumi for several weeks to offer an extraordinary and surprising experience, both to the 1.5 million visitors from previous years and to those who haven’t yet had the chance to experience its magic.

CANADA’S MOST POPULAR EVENT!
Since its world premiere in Laval in 2019, illumi has drawn phenomenal crowds. With 1.5 million visitors to date, this multimedia project designed by Normand Latourelle is the most popular and most-attended ticketed event of its kind in Canada .

ILLUMI IS TAKING ONTARIO BY STORM For the first time in its history, illumi has expanded beyond Quebec’s borders. Since last month, illumi has been lighting up Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto, with millions of lights as part of a new iteration of its one-of-a-kind experience.
