A major event in Saint-François
This year, the Festival MOSAÏQUE Laval is moving east! The Saint-François district is home to a smaller cultural offering than downtown Laval, and since it's part of La Centrale's mission to challenge cultural desertification, this new location seems ideally suited to such a large-scale event. The second edition of the festival is therefore being offered primarily to residents of Saint-François, but the entire population is invited to this free, unifying event.

A spokesperson with heart
We are delighted to collaborate with Saint-François-born actress and host Schelby Jean-Baptiste. From her television debut in 2014, she was part of successful casts - including Trauma, Unité 9, L'heure bleue, Pour toujours moins un jour - before moving on to the big screen. Since 2021, she has been host, ideator and co-director of the web series Pa t'mentir, broadcast on Tou.tv, which works to demystify and deconstruct certain taboos present within Quebec's black and multi-ethnic communities.

Twice as many shows
While we presented 7 shows in 2021, we'll be bringing 17 artistic groups to the festival stages from August 18 to 21. More musical discoveries, dance, storytelling, an ephemeral market and a colorful, playful outdoor site - that's what's in store for those who join us this year. It's also an opportunity to kick off the PANORAMA cultural mediation project, which aims to build bridges between people of recent immigrant background and members of Laval's host society.
