Tourisme Laval with Collège Montmorency and its Foundation on a project aimed at supporting businesses and the qualified student workforce in the tourism sector

 

 

Laval, October 27, 2022 – Against the current backdrop of a labor shortage, coupled with a marked recovery in tourism, Tourisme Laval with Collège Montmorency and its Foundation to launch the “Parcours privilèges” initiative , which aims to foster the next generation of professionals, address staffing needs, and help modernize business practices within Laval’s tourism industry.

Tourisme Laval a leading role in facilitating connections between the Tourism Technology department at Collège Montmorency and its member companies that wish to host students for an exploratory internship, a job-market integration internship, or to gain work experience.

Tourisme Laval is thrilled to Tourisme Laval launched the ‘Parcours privilèges’ project, which is fully in line with our role as a tourism development agency in the Laval region. The ‘Parcours privilèges’ is undoubtedly an excellent way to attract and retain young, passionate, and qualified tourism professionals at our member companies, who will help drive our destination’s growth both now and in the future,” said Geneviève Roy, President and CEO of Tourisme Laval.

For its part, Collège Montmorency aims to highlight the importance of obtaining a high-quality, advanced education in tourism techniques. Through the “Parcours privilèges” program, the college can offer on-the-job training while helping to address the labor shortage among Laval’s tourism businesses and providing them with access to the expertise of a new generation.

With the “Parcours Privilèges” program, the Tourism Techniques program is enhanced by a component offering invaluable real-world business experience. This initiative will prove to be a major asset in attracting young people to study tourism and providing Laval’s tourism businesses with a young, qualified workforce.

“I am extremely enthusiastic about the Parcours Privilèges project, which will allow us to raise funds and redistribute them to the local community in the form of scholarships for students participating in Parcours Privilèges. “This is a unique opportunity for students in the Tourism Technology program to build special relationships with key players in the Laval community,” adds Marie-Eve Gervais, Executive Director of the Collège Montmorency Foundation.
