Fund to Stimulate International Business Tourism (FSTAI)

The Fund to Boost International Business Tourism (FSTAI) reflects the Ministry of Tourism’s (MTO) commitment to attracting major international business events to Quebec or to increasing the international attendance at major international business events held in Quebec.

Eligibility

Eligible applicant entities must meet the following three conditions:  

  1. To be an entity actively involved in attracting events. Such entities may include:  
  • Destination management organizations
  • Economic development organizations or agencies
  • Research and educational institutions, or individuals specializing in research who are affiliated with such institutions;
  • Local branches of international organizations
  • Or other local, sector-specific, or economic organizations involved in attracting business events.  
  1. Seeking to attract a major international business event to Quebec, or aiming to increase international participation in an existing business event or one that has already been confirmed for Quebec.
  2. Belong to one of the following customer groups:  
  • For-profit organizations (FPOs) legally incorporated in Quebec;
  • Nonprofit organizations (NPOs) legally incorporated inQuebec
  • Cooperatives legally incorporated inQuebec;
  • Municipal entities in Quebec ;
  • Indigenous communities, organizations, and nations recognized by the National Assembly.   

The FSTAI distinguishes between two types of applications for components 1, 2, and 4:  

  1. Applications submitted by one or more individuals specializing in research and affiliated with research and educational institutions;
  2. Any other types of requests.

*Eligibility alone does not guarantee funding.

Part 1-2-3: Event whose date has not yet been confirmed

My event hasn't been confirmed yet, but I want to make the necessary arrangements to bring the event to Quebec: see sections 1, 2, and 3. 

 

Category 4: Confirmed or recurring event in Quebec

My event is taking place in Quebec for the first time or on a recurring basis, it is confirmed : See Section 4  

Steps and Deadlines
  1. See the applicant's guide 
  2. Fill out and sign the application form. Then send it to [email protected]. The form must be sent in its original Excel format. It cannot be converted to any other format, including PDF.
  3. Tourisme Laval you shortly to discuss the next steps.
     

Application deadlines:  

Applications may be submitted on an ongoing basis to Tourisme Laval part of calls for proposals that will close on the following dates:  

  • May 5, 2026
  • July 14, 2026
  • September 22, 2026
  • December 1, 2026
  • February 9, 2027
  • April 20, 2027
  • June 29, 2027
  • September 7, 2027
  • November 16, 2027
  • January 11, 2028
  • February 22, 2028

Economic Partnership and Regional Trade and Investment Program (EPRTNT)

The 2025–2027 Regional Partnership and Digital Transformation in Tourism Agreement (EPRTNT) reflects the shared commitment of the Ministry of Tourism (MTO) and Tourisme Laval collaborate in order to provide financial support and guidance to tourism businesses located within their respective jurisdictions, helping them to develop and grow in a responsible and sustainable manner.

To apply for financial assistance, you must first contact Tourisme Laval [email protected]. An initial application form will be sent to you to verify your project’s eligibility.

If your project is eligible, Tourisme Laval provide you with the form to fill out.

Eligibility

Only projects that demonstrate significant visitor traffic from day-trippers and/or tourists will be selected.

  • Day-trippers (people who take a round-trip journey outside their city on the same day, with a one-way distance of at least 40 kilometers)
  • Tourists (people who have taken a trip lasting one night or more, but less than one year, outside their city and who have stayed in commercial or private accommodations)

The entities eligible for the EPRTNT program are:

  • Tourism businesses: for-profit companies, nonprofits, and cooperatives
  • Municipal entities
  • Indigenous communities and nations
  • Any grouping of these client groups
