Chic and Cool: 5 Fashion Tips for Back-to-Office Spring Season

This spring, it's not just the cars that will be hybrid; the whole of Quebec is getting ready to quietly abandon its improvised workspaces at home for a gradual return to the offices. Almost all of us have experienced the joys and challenges of working from home and doing laundry between calls, but most of all, the absolute comfort of working in our sweats. It's been three years since that famous day, and we're ready to meet up with our colleagues in person for a chat over the coffee machine. But are we really determined to get rid of our wool socks and fleece pants?

Before going into a complete frenzy and renewing my entire wardrobe for the official return to the office, far from the video conference meetings, I called on the stylist Julie B. who guided me to the current trends just in time for the imminent arrival of spring.

Slack again

I was delighted to learn that our wonderful "soft linen" purchased online in the last few months will be useful again, even for business meetings. In need of inspiration? I invite you to do a little window shopping at CF Carrefour Laval where you'll see that new looks are a mix of comfort and elegance. Here are a few tips to help you match your beautiful sweaters purchased for your meetings on Zoom with light and colourful skirts found in one of the 635 boutiques in the Laval region.

"We're very much looking for comfort. It's still hard for people to get out of the house, so we might as well take it one step at a time" - Julie B. Stylist

  1. Swap your stiff shirt and tie for a turtleneck or a stylish t-shirt under your jacket for maximum comfort.
  2. Opt for paper-bag-style pants for a comfy yet chic look, so you can to from work to a happy hour in a snap.
  3. Say goodbye to stilettos and choose wedge shoes instead to give your look a more urban feel without the blisters and back pain.
  4. Embrace stretchy suits, oversized jackets and wide-legged pants that will make you regret having spent so many years stuck in tight clothes.
  5. Dare to wear clothes with big patterns and bright colours, and say goodbye to the dreary classics because life is too short to shy away from flowers and big prints.

Whether you're visiting or living in the Laval area, the shopping mecca in Quebec, will satisfy all your fashion needs. From trendy boutiques to thrift stores overflowing with finds, you'll discover what it takes to be the most stylish person in town after these few must-visit stores and boutiques.
