The tourism industry is transforming at breakneck speed. Today’s visitors are no longer just looking for a place to stay; they want authentic, digitally seamless, and environmentally friendly experiences. For businesses and organizations in Laval, staying competitive means embracing the dual transition toward digital transformation and sustainable development.
The question is no longer whether we should modernize, but how to finance it.
The answer may be the EPRTNT. And the good news? A budget of $1.56 million has been specifically set aside for projects in Laval, and Tourisme Laval your primary partner for accessing these funds.
What is EPRTNT?
The acronym may seem complicated, but the goal is simple. The Regional Partnership and Digital Transformation in Tourism Agreement (EPRTNT) is the Ministry of Tourism’s main funding program to help businesses modernize.
The program demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Tourism (MTO) and Tourisme Laval work together to provide financial support and guidance to tourism businesses located in their region, helping them develop and grow through a responsible and sustainable approach.
Tourisme Laval, a co-investor
Under the EPRTNT program,Tourisme Laval merely as an intermediary. The organization is a true co-investor. Of the total budget of $1.56 million available for 2025–2027, Tourisme Laval $700,000 to supplement the ministry’s funding.
What does this mean for you? It means that your regional tourism association believes in you. It has a direct stake in your success and is ready to invest alongside you. Your application isn’t just a form—it’s a proposal for a partnership to enhance Laval’s appeal.
A two-step strategy
Many small and medium-sized tourism businesses know they need to modernize, but are overwhelmed by the scale of the task. Redesigning a website, implementing upgrades that require specialized expertise, expanding an existing service offering… there are so many things that can be done! Fortunately, the EPRTNT is brilliantly structured to address this issue.
Phase 1: Fund the plan
Before spending tens of thousands of dollars, you can get financial assistance of up to $20,000 to hire experts. Their task? To conduct an assessment, a feasibility study, or develop a strategic plan. This gives you a clear roadmap, co-funded by the program.
Phase 2: Funding the Initiative
With this business plan in hand, you’re now ready to take action. You can submit a new application—this time for business setup—with funding of up to $90,000. This is a logical approach that protects your investment and maximizes your chances of success.
Of course, more traditional categories such as attractions, lodging, and festivals are still eligible.
