Easter break is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning! What should we do with all these beautiful days under a spring sky? In Laval, that’s not even a question—there’s no shortage of ideas or activities. We’re sharing our top picks to help inspire you.
April 5–21, 2025, the Nature Center will be transformed into a little spring paradise. With trees budding, the sun turning the grass green, and the air slowly warming up, just strolling along the trailsisis enough to make you feel like you’re on vacation. But since Easter deserves to be celebrated properly, the center has a few indoor and greenhouse activities in store for you. A spring scavenger hunt along the trails and a drawing contest in the tropical greenhouse (with a giant chocolate bar up for grabs) await you. Not to mention the gardening workshop, an introduction to repotting for children 13 and under, offered on April 18, 19, 20, and 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Forget the traditional Easter egg hunt! Go for an eco-friendly version by hiding sustainable surprises. Skip the plastic eggs or toys that will be forgotten as soon as the party is over. Hide seedlings to plant in the garden or clues that lead to a local family activity like rock climbing, escape rooms, Funtropolis or bowling. And as for the location? Go on a treasure hunt in your backyard, in one of Laval’s woods, or at Bernard-Landry Park and take advantage of the fact that you’re already outside to go for a long walk or play disc golf.
Painting Easter eggs is fun, but it’s not exactly original. It’s clearly one of the great classics of the tradition. So, for a change this year, why not spend an afternoon on the beach at Berge aux Quatre-Vents, enjoying the waterfront, taking in the scenery, and… collecting beautiful rocks that you can paint at home. Then, follow the trend and hide them in public places around Laval so your artwork can bring a smile to the faces of passersby who discover them.
At Easter, we love getting together with family or friends for dinner or brunch! And to do so, we can go out to a restaurant (and in Laval, with nearly 800 gourmet spots, there’s always something to suit your taste) or… eat at home. If the second option appeals to you, make things easier on yourself by stopping by Ferme Agneaux de Laval to fill your basket with local products and stop by Bête à pain to pick up some French toast or pastries. Round out your meal with a sweet treat from Mam’zelle Joséphine.
