Mélanie Dubé
Journalist, blogger, editor
With a degree in journalism, Mélanie worked for 10 years at weekly newspapers before branching out as a freelance writer. As a journalist, editor, communications specialist, blogger, and online community manager, she wears many hats, all united by a common thread: passion. She loves learning, meeting people, and having the privilege of sharing her knowledge and discoveries. She’s from Laval and proud of it!
Now that the temperature is dropping, I have to admit that I’m starting to feel less energetic. I feel more tired and more stressed.
Why? I wonder. Is it because winter seems to be settling in too quickly? Is it because I feel like I’ve been running nonstop since summer vacation ended? Is it because my to-do list is still (too) long? I’m not really sure, but there’s one thing I do know that would do me good: treating myself to a few little indulgences!
I would gladly return to Amerispa Sheraton Laval, where my twin sister Annick and I were pampered all morning for our birthday. I remember that when I left, I felt energized and as if I had two pounds less on my shoulders (I might be exaggerating a little, but only slightly!). That morning gave me a wonderful sense of well-being.
That’s when I discovered the bamboo-extract body wrap, which offers a moment of wellness and beauty while remineralizing and revitalizing the body. This type of wrap is designed to eliminate toxins from the body, hydrate the skin, and promote relaxation.
How did the body wrap go? Basically, the beauty therapist started with an exfoliation, then applied a paste from my feet up to my chest. Next, I was wrapped in plastic wrap and covered with a heated blanket. After that, I closed my eyes and relaxed for a good 25 minutes. I felt so, so good! I think I dozed off. A thorough rinse and a scalp massage rounded out this relaxing experience. I loved the benefits of this treatment.
Next, to look my best from head to toe, I decided to get a manicure and pedicure. Having pretty nails really boosted my mood. I should also mention that while I was getting my pedicure, I was comfortably seated in a massage chair. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Of course, Amérispa offers a wide range of other treatments, such as massage therapy and facials. A tip: be sure to check out the special offers and packages—you might find some great deals.
If you’re in the mood to relax together, perhaps you’d like to book the VIP Suite? I have to admit, it’s a beautiful place. The decor is cozy and the atmosphere is peaceful. Best of all, you can receive your treatments right in your suite! It has everything you need for a relaxing experience: a massage table, a whirlpool tub, a hydrotherapy shower, plus a cozy corner where you can snack and enjoy a drink.
Before our batteries run out, we need to recharge them. We have to take care of ourselves, because no one else will do it for us. Why not treat yourself to something refreshing? 450-682-3365.
Enjoy the rest of the fall!
