A city getaway in downtown Laval!

Who said you can’t plan a trip to downtown Laval without even using a car? I’ve tested out the perfect itinerary for those who want to get away from it all for a bit using public transit!

Starting point: the Montmorency subway station

We sometimes forget just how easy, fast, and convenient taking the metro is! Montmorency Station, located at the very end of the Orange Line in Laval, will be your starting point for this urban adventure. The terminal is very well connected, making it accessible to everyone and easy to navigate. Head to the BIXI station next!

Riding a BIXI in Laval—you bet!

You’re probably already aware of how easy these famous bikes are to use! Now available in both “electric-assist” and classic versions, getting around downtown Laval is a breeze. The BIXI station is located right near Place Bell—which happens to be our next stop…

“The City of Laval is part of the BIXI bike-sharing network. This partnership allows the City of Laval to promote efficient, active, and sustainable mobility, while helping to combat climate change by offering Laval residents an alternative to driving.”

Place Bell, terrace atmosphere

Whether you’re planning to catch a show or just want to enjoy some time in the sun, a stop at the terraces on Place Bell is a must! It’s the perfect spot for a good meal or a drink with friends while you wait to continue your day or evening. You can’t go wrong with the Gatto Matto, my favorite restaurant in downtown Laval!

Let's go shopping!

How could you not stop by CF Carrefour Laval while you’re there? This magnificent shopping center’s reputation speaks for itself—it’s the ultimate spot for shopping or window-shopping… Strolling through the garden is a must. This enchanting setting instantly transports you to a serene oasis! Of course, there’s a BIXI station right next door, making it even easier to enjoy the experience to the fullest without having to worry about parking your car!

Enjoy a delicious meal at Centropolis

A trip to downtown Laval wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Centropolis! Easily accessible on foot from the Carrefour Laval train station, this bustling shopping district has an unbeatable atmosphere! Everyone gathers around the central fountain to relax, stroll, or enjoy the surrounding patios. You’ll have plenty of menu options to choose from—there’s something for everyone! I’d still like to recommend my personal favorite: the Randolph, Pub Ludique. Hundreds of board games are available, along with a tempting menu for a quick bite between rounds of Doctor Pill—guaranteed laughs!

Plus, from July 7 to August 25, Centropolis’s Place Centrale is hosting a festival-style music lineup to take you on a summer journey around the world!

This summer, liven up your evenings with the Music Zones , which offer a specially curated summer lineup from July 9 to August 27, 2023! Enjoy free admission to a wide variety of outdoor music performances across all genres in one of the 8 zones located throughout Laval.
