If you're like me, you love planning outings that the whole family will enjoy. But what a challenge! It's hard to make sure everyone gets what they want without it being a headache.
That’s why I was pleasantly surprised by how simple and efficient it was to plan our family staycation at the Hilton Montreal/Laval. There were so many options that I really couldn’t go wrong!
We stayed in a suite with two separate bedrooms, which was absolutely perfect for our family given all the different ways we could relax. It allowed us to cater to everyone’s different entertainment preferences—thanks in part to the three TVs… and a fun game of hide-and-seek!
With a fully equipped kitchen (including a refrigerator for drinks and snacks for the kids, and even a dishwasher!), a private patio (complete with a barbecue!), two very large beds, plus a sofa bed in the living room, this suite has everything you need for a truly comfortable stay—just like home.
Since we had some time before dinner, we decided to go do something.
There are plenty of options in Laval! Just a stone's throw from the hotel in Centropolis : Clip’n Climb, iFly, Bfly, Putting Edge. Right next door are the Cosmodome and the Armand-Frappier Health Museum. Near the CF Carrefour Laval, there’s the brand-new SOS Vortex maze. For nature lovers, the Rivière-des-Mille-Îles Park is just a few kilometers away.
Since parking is free at both the hotel and the activity sites, we drove there. However, we could also have taken the 360 shuttle, a free service offered daily during the summer. This sustainable mobility concept is truly practical and accessible. The shuttle runs to the Hilton Montreal/Laval every 20 minutes and its route includes stops at Centropolis, CF Carrefour Laval , and the Montmorency metro station.
We decided on the Cosmodomefor a unique space experience. Our mission took us to the Moon. My partner and I were just as excited as the kids to take on the challenges of this virtual mission. What could be better than activities that the whole family can enjoy!
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed a delicious meal at Le Quartz Restaurant-Bar. It has everything to keep the kids happy: from classic kid-friendly meals that are always a hit to high chairs and coloring pencils. The more elaborate dishes for adults satisfied our craving for good food. Suzie and Maxime, who were serving us, were charming and attentive to the whole family.
What better way to end the day at the hotel than with a movie night? The team at the Hilton Montréal/Laval has thought of everything. The hotel’s “Sur le pouce” convenience store is open 24 hours a day. It offers treats for every taste—enough to throw a full-blown sleepover! Local products, candy, chocolate, chips, drinks, popcorn, cookies, cakes, and more. The hardest part was resisting the urge to buy everything!
After a good night’s sleep in extremely comfortable beds, my daughter and I decided to get some exercise at the gym, which is open 24 hours a day. The high-quality equipment allowed us to energize ourselves with a full workout.
The whole family then went back to see Suzie at the restaurant for breakfast. She welcomed us just as warmly as the day before, but this time she used our first names. My kids felt like real VIPs!
Before leaving, we couldn’t pass up the chance to enjoy the pool and hot tub! My little ones had a blast playing and swimming, while I was happy to relax in the lounge chairs and keep an eye on them.
What stands out from my family stay at the Hilton Montréal/Laval? The attentive and patient staff who provide personalized service, the comfort of the apartment-style suite and the beds, as well as the many options to suit every preference—whether staying at the hotel or heading out for activities, dining at a restaurant or cooking in the suite, driving or taking public transportation.
Most importantly, mission accomplished! During this perfect little getaway close to home, I was able to take a break from everyday life, and the whole family had a blast!
