In the summer, everything seems to go more smoothly! It’s probably a matter of sunshine, vibe and vacation. But literally, things are rolling, in the summer thanks to the bike. So go ahead, explore the island via its bike paths. Thanks to the historic expansion of the BIXI network, Laval invites you to hop on a bike (electric or regular) and explore the city one pedal stroke at a time.
Add a touch of charm to your trip to Laval by starting in Old Sainte-Rose, now served by BIXI. From the moment you start pedaling, you’ll be captivated by the beauty of the surroundings: mature trees, breathtaking historic house facades, and a river to admire. While you’re there, stop for a gourmet treat at the Boating Club ! Otherwise, along the way, you’ll find a BIXI station near Champfleury Park, perfect for a reading break in the shade.
Follow the bike paths toward the Nature Center with the firm intention of enjoying its 50 urban hectares to admire the scenery or stop for a picnic. Enjoy the trails, the educational farm, or even a paddleboat ride. And by the way, note that the area is well-connected, with new stations in the Auteuil and Vimont neighbourhoods, offering great flexibility for your travels.
Laval’s heart beats for culture! Head back out on the road toward Espace Montmorency and soak up the sun in its courtyard or take full advantage of the pop-up events taking place there. From there, head to the Cosmodome the Armand-Frappier Health Museum, two of Laval’s flagship institutions. You’ll discover a wealth of interesting things there and broaden your horizons in scientific culture.
Near Le Corbusier and Saint-Martin Boulevards, Centropolis is well connected via the Route Verte, one of Quebec’s busiest bike paths! Add this spot to your itinerary to enjoy the sunny patios and all the excitement on site. At Centropolis, things are always happening!
Head to Sainte-Dorothée, one of the new neighborhoods now served by BIXI. This booming area offers the perfect balance between nature and urban life. Head to the Papineau Woods to observe the local biodiversity.
With 75 stations spread across Laval, including 219 electric bikes (out of a total of 850 available bikes), BIXI makes active transportation more accessible than ever. Create your own custom itinerary by selecting your favorite attractions on the Tourisme Laval and finding the nearest BIXI station on their website.
