On Sunday, September1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., let loose with your family (or friends, of course). Grab your sunglasses, call your favorite people, and pack a light lunch to enjoy a day of fun and memorable discoveries. And it’s all free! Follow us—we’ll give you the details of the day’s program and a few tips to make sure everything goes smoothly!
Is “Adventure” your middle name? Great! The Family Festival has a host of activities in store that are sure to satisfy your need for a thrill. From the giant zip line to the aerial adventure course and climbing walls, the Multisports Caravan is the perfect place to try out different sports, while the Turbulence Zone will delight kids looking for energetic games.
Younger visitors will be in for plenty of surprises with inflatable games, face-painting workshops, and roaming characters sure to put smiles on everyone’s faces, while dance enthusiasts won’t be left out with lively dance sessions. People of all ages can satisfy their curiosity by exploring the Public Works Department’s heavy equipment exhibit. Finally, the surprise of all surprises: the Laval Rocket players will be there to meet their fans—which is to say, everyone.
The main stage, located in the heart of the Playground, will host must-see shows such as *The Magic Book* and *Zak – Tamer of Challenges*. For a more artistic atmosphere, the Village des arts stage offers unique performances by Henri Godon, as well as an exclusive talk by Michel Rabagliati and Guillaume Perreault. The Illusionnistes’ Magic Recital will delight magic enthusiasts, and the 4237 collective will present its show Cabaret noir et blanc under the big top.
The Laval Nature Centre offers a lush, peaceful setting, perfect for a getaway with family or friends. It’s easily accessible via major highways or public transit. Once you arrive, if you’re driving, you’ll have plenty of parking available. And here’s a little secret: it’s the perfect spot for picnicking with friends! Bring your snacks and a picnic blanket!
To make sure your day goes smoothly, here are a few practical tips! Even though the Nature Center has plenty of shaded areas—perfect for taking a break from the sun—don’t forget to bring bottles of water to stay hydrated. Don’t forget your sunscreen, and be sure to bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear to fully enjoy all the activities. Also bring some band-aids to treat summer scrapes and blisters.
