Have you had a chance to visit Place Bell? It's a multifunctional complex worthy of the greats. The people of Laval should be proud that there's finally a facility like this in their city. I certainly am! And I have a real crush on the Place!
Under one roof, you can...
Place Bell features a 10,000-seat convertible amphitheater for large-scale shows and events. For the curious, see what's coming up next.
As you know, Place Bell is the home of the Laval Rocket, the Montreal Canadiens' training club. My father and I attended a game there and had a great time. I was impressed to see these future NHL stars skate. And what about the atmosphere? Fantastic.
As someone who's not a field hockey fanatic (well, I love it, but I'm not the kind of person who watches every game on TV), I can't wait to get back out there.
Take a look at the team's calendar, and be aware that there are various packages for families and students, among others. Well worth a look.
It's also a great place to go skating, especially when it's -1000 degrees Celsius outside. Time slots are available for skating and free field hockey.
What I like about this place for free skating (for field hockey, I'll get back to you when I've played a game!) is the size of the rink, which is Olympic-sized. You don't get around it in three skating strokes. I also appreciate the boards with protective cushions, the lighting and watching the "minis" with skating aids.
I also believe it's an exceptional venue for training and competition for ice sports enthusiasts, such as short-track speed skating, figure skating, ringette and field hockey.
In short, Place Bell is a unique meeting place. It's a place where young and old can meet professional athletes and Olympians who will inspire them, artists who will make them dream... and friends and family who will help them have a great time.
I promise myself another visit soon. When are you planning to visit?
Place Bell is a stone's throw from the Montmorency metro station and easily accessible from Highway 15. It features indoor parking and a free shuttle service from City Hall.
All the ways to get there are just a click away!
