Summer is slowly drawing to a close, but the fall season promises a whole new palette, brimming with creativity and culture. In Laval, the start of the cultural season blossoms into a series of unique experiences, perfect for extending the magic of summer and creating new memories—whether you’re out with friends, family, or as a couple. This fall, the island transforms into a veritable playground for the curious and for enthusiasts of art, heritage, and culture. Here are a few must-see events that will make you want to dive into Laval’s vibrant cultural scene.
As part of the festivities marking the 60th anniversary of the City of Laval, four public art tours invite you to explore the island in a new way, neighborhood by neighborhood. Among them, the art , sports, and science tour takes you to the heart of three iconic institutions: the Aquatic Complex, the Armand-Frappier Health Museum, and the Cosmodome. Guided by the artists’ vision, each stop reveals works from Laval’s collection, transforming familiar places into spaces of wonder.
These walks are the perfect opportunity to slow down, rediscover familiar places, and see them from a new perspective. You look up at a painting on wood, stop to chat with other art lovers, and little by little, Laval reveals itself as a vast, living open-air gallery where heritage and creativity intertwine.
Nestled in the heart of the Sainte-Dorothée neighborhood, the André-Benjamin Papineau House is once again ready to welcome visitors of all ages. This historic home, a unique testament to a bygone era, is reopening its doors following major renovations completed in the summer of 2025. It offers a fascinating immersion into Laval’s heritage, farming families, and the life of André-BenjaminPapineau, thanks to its permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition on the upper floor.
Here, the floors creak softly underfoot, the walls seem to whisper forgotten stories, and each room transports visitors to a past rich in tales. The activities on offer invite visitors to delve into the collective memory through talks, creative workshops, encounters with historical figures, and much more. It’s the perfect place to combine learning, contemplation, and wonder.
Starting in September 2025, the Armand-Frappier Health Museum presents its new temporary exhibition: Get Moving!. A fun experience that highlights the benefits of physical activity for both the body and the mind.
More than just a visit, Bouger ! is an adventure. Children are amazed by interactive games that turn learning into fun. And in an experimental space, everyone can observe their own body in action: the heart racing, the body heating up, energy flowing. It’s a unique and lively way to understand movement. An inspiring outing that makes you want to go home and move a little more each day—just for fun!
When Thursday evening rolls around, Laval comes alive with a festive energy thanks to the Co Motion Thursdays at the Station Momo. It’s the perfect spot to kick off the weekend a little early and get swept up in vibrant artistic performances.
