We love winter for all sorts of reasons, some of which are even a little silly (e.g., because we can spend 12 hours binge-watching a show without feeling guilty). However, we rarely mention having to shovel snow off our cars and wait forever for the windows to defrost. So, stick to the joys of winter and leave your car at home.
Take public transit to Laval and arrive practically right at the doorstep of your favorite activities.
There is a wide range of activities centered around the Cartier metro station. There’s something for everyone, starting with the Délia-Tétreault Museum , which immerses us in the captivating story of Canada’s first female missionary. Next, for fans of retro sports, there’s the BG Laval 2000 Bowling Alley located nearby, as well as the Bleu Blanc Bouge ice rink or the Bernard-Landry Park for those looking for a little more action.
Finally, starting from Cartier Station, you can also treat your taste buds by visiting Kyomi (hello to fine Asian cuisine) and at Les Insulaires Microbrewery (hello to incredible craft beer from Laval).
Located on (surprise!) Concorde Boulevard, the station of the same name opened in 2007. From this station, you can easily grab a poutine at Gérard’s or get some fresh air at Parc des Prairies. Best of all, it’s the starting point for a trip to the Maison des arts de Laval, one of Laval’s cultural gems. Whether you want to catch a play or stroll through an art gallery, this is a must-visit destination to add to your itinerary.
The Montmorency station is a hub of cultural activities and entertainment. Just a stone's throw from the metro station is the Salle André-Mathieu, perfect for catching a comedy or music show, not to mention Place Bell , which hardly needs any introduction. As we all know, that’s where you go to catch a Rocket game. It’s also where you head to grab a bite at restaurants like Gatto Matto, Spicebros or Westwood, to name just a few.
