A week in Laval, for pleasure

Retirees on the run
Christiane and Daniel

We invited new retirees to explore Laval and share their culinary, cultural, heritage and outdoor favourites with us.

Retired for four years now, we're trying to make our dreams come true and travel as much as possible. We've been to a number of popular and original destinations. Daniel's work as a tour guide helped, of course. We've been to Western Canada, Ontario, the Magdalen Islands and the Gaspé more than once.

We've also visited Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and more...on our own. Every time we come back, we think about our next departure.

When an opportunity like Laval presents itself, we're up for it too!

At first sight, a strange idea, a crazy project...

"What are you going to do in Laval, for love?" our skeptical friends think.

First, it's close for people from Quebec City. At the same time, you can visit family in Montreal. Then, you can travel light and discover the unknown!

Off to Laval!

Easily following the question marks at the Laval Tourism Bureau, we meet the kind and patient people who will guide us on our journey as happy retirees on the run in Laval.

Hunger has taken hold of us, so we quickly cross over to the table of the beautiful big restaurant with revisited Quebecois flavors, Les Enfants Terribles. Madame Marie-Josée Bougie begins to reveal a few secrets. This is our first restaurant, but not our last! We'll be back. Eating in Laval is a guarantee of happiness!

At Centropolis, the name says it all, we gather to feast in one of their 30 restaurants. We've never seen anything like it before! Invigorating!

Many other pleasures await us. Pleasure for the eyes, pleasure to discover and learn, pleasure to meet people attached to their environment and very, very welcoming.
