In Laval, fall isn't just about pumpkins - it's about planning a real pumpkin spree! Jump right into the spirit of the season by "picking" a few hidden treasures from our local farms and establishments!
At Forget Ferme Forgetpick-your-own has been going strong since the end of June, with a variety of berries, sunflowers and zinnias. But it's not over yet, with squash and pumpkins continuing throughout October. Trot out to the fields, pick your own pumpkins and enjoy the last flowers (and sunshine) of the season.
Since this activity depends on the weather, over which we have no control, call the Farm before you go. The voicemail will be updated with field conditions and product availability.
All aboard for Marineau Farm! Take a seat in their huge field filled with hundreds of pumpkins (nearly 20 varieties!) and pick out the prettiest ones. Also, make the most of the time and place to relax in their straw lounges, watch singer-songwriter shows, play giant games, visit Grandma Pumpkin's house and enjoy the ma.gni.fi.c colors of autumn. Perfection awaits!
Take the time to visit Café Marineau, with its farm menu, cocktails, beers, sangria and mocktails. Alternatively, enjoy a frozen dessert in their artisanal crèmerie, while watching the kids play in the farm theme park and meet the cute goats. The more adventurous among you can try their corn maze with riddles.
Treat your palate to a little pumpkin sweetness. Stop by Les Minettes and discover two fantastic products: pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin spice caramel. We love pumpkin seed oil for its health benefits, the fact that this unique oil is produced in Quebec, and because it tastes absolutely divine. On the other hand, we love pumpkin spice caramel for its sweetness and spices that taste like... autumn! Add it to your coffee, spread it on brioche or eat it with a spoon - a real bonus for autumn.
In Madame Bovary, it's all in the details. And one of them didn't escape us! For a taste of autumn (or just to have an excuse to try this new establishment), aim for the menu and try their burrata! The famous Italian cheese is served on their French toast, topped with apricots, dates, raisin salsa, pancetta chip and basil oil with... pumpkin seeds (there's the link!).
