Au pied de l’Himalaya méconnu

Description

It took Alain Wodey several visits before he was able to open the "Door of Serenity", a few words full of promise that so aptly reflect the philosophy of Arunachal Pradesh, a region in north-east India. A discreet state, long closed to foreigners, partly claimed by China but largely unknown, even to neighboring countries. And yet there are so many unsuspected treasures to discover!

Along the way, you'll discover surprising landscapes, from the Assamese plains to the island of Majuli, but also a wilderness where subtropical forests abound with lush fauna. You'll meet many tribal populations, such as the dancing monks, who will share their culture and traditions with you.

Far from the classic clichés of snow-capped peaks and glaciers, this is another face of the Himalayas.

For Alain Wodey, the most important part of traveling is getting to know others. Since 1972, he has been traveling throughout Asia, and more particularly northeast India and Indonesia, where he spent many months sharing the daily lives of ethnic minorities.
