Merci d’être venus – Compagnie Le Complexe

Presented as part of the Rencontre Théâtre Ados (RTA) festival

Description

A traumatic personal experience is transformed into an artistic object for use with teenagers.

Written as a monologue, this play deals with an often incomprehensible family tragedy: the suicide of a loved one. The play's author and performer, Gabriel Morin, recounts the loss of his own brother with sincerity, sensitivity and humor. An autobiographical story that questions an irreversible act and illustrates how this loss influenced him. Between anger, incomprehension, sadness and guilt, he shares his thoughts on mental illness, anxiety and the search for meaning - his own and that of his family. Even if he could have one last conversation with his deceased brother, the actor accepts with abandon that certain questions remain unanswered; it is then that a genuine process of mourning and healing can begin, pushing him to keep moving forward.
