Laval is a destination of contrasts! Its heart balances between urbanity and the great outdoors. It's THE place to plan a chic day out on the town or under the canopy, depending on your mood. But to wash down the New Year's turkey and other holiday treats, we're banking on its natural side and treating ourselves to a moment to play in the snow. Here are our current favorites.

With its small heated cabins, the skating rink in Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles is definitely a unique place to discover. These colorful little huts are available for 2-hour rentals. Great for warming hands and feet with a cup of hot chocolate.
While you're at it, why not try a skate-slide combo?slide. Yes, at Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, you can also hurtle down the snow-covered slopes at full speed, free of charge, from the Garrot bank (behind the Centre d'exploration).
Head for Parc Émile
The Bleu Blanc Bouge refrigerated ice rink is a destination of choice for two reasons. Firstly, the quality of its ice is incomparable and, secondly, it's the perfect place to play open field hockey (but remember to reserve your place to ensure a good rotation). For teaching children to develop healthy lifestyle habits, it's a great option to consider.
