From early fall to the first snowfall, autumn colors take center stage. Reds and oranges are everywhere, along with dried wheat, pumpkins, and seasonal flowers. To brighten up homes, people don’t skimp on floral arrangements that cheer up the entrance or grace the dining tables. To help you find everything you need to create memorable decorations and atmospheres, while treating your eyes to the most beautiful plants available in the fall, we’ve put together a short itinerary for you to follow.
Pink, purple, yellow, or orange, fall chrysanthemums bloom until the end of November and require very little care. We also love them for their eye-catching beauty and because they’re available in bulk at Serres Sylvain Cléroux in Laval. And while you’re there, why not take the opportunity to visit the exhibition greenhouse? As you stroll through the aisles, breathe in the fresh air, admire the scenery, and draw inspiration from the 500 varieties of plants unfolding before your eyes. A golden opportunity to make some wonderful discoveries
Flowers have many benefits. In addition to bringing joy when received as gifts, they help improve air quality. And, not to be overlooked, they also have a calming effect. Whether you want to create your own beautiful seasonal bouquets or purchase ones that are custom-made just for you, there’s one name that stands out: Charbonneau L’Expert. There, you’ll find a wide selection of plants, as well as passionate staff who can advise you or create the most beautiful floral arrangements for you. Pssst! Take advantage of your visit to stroll through the aisles and top off your experience with a little treat (we’re thinking of the cookies and fruit baskets sold in the shop).
Are you feeling an irresistible urge to let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of flowers and plants? Or perhaps it’s the fresh idea of creating an autumn garden that you just can’t shake? Whatever the reason that’s driving you to visit a greenhouse, don’t deny yourself the pleasure! To combine the practical with the surprising, stop by the Locas Nursery and then continue your day by diving into the heart of a totally exotic agritourism micro-trip by visiting the very first Tropical Plant Fair. There, you’ll have plenty of time to admire an impressive selection of tropical plants, visit pop-up shops specializing in rare plants, and attend free lectures! The Fair ends on October1, but the nursery is open year-round.
Tradition doesn’t necessarily mean “no room for innovation.” Alongside those autumn flowers you love so much—the ones that complete your fall decor year after year—perhaps you could add a new variety. A variety you haven’t tried yet! At Serres FJC Lavoie, you can get your hands on a host of rare plants or… cacti! It’s a great destination to see and experience fall in a different way. Be warned: this place is highly addictive. So you might end up spending more time there than you planned.
