Adults and kids will be captivated by the interactive permanent exhibition Le chemin de l’eau: de la rivière à la rivière (the water’s path: from river to river). Supported by artefacts, it’s the ideal activity for learning more about water and its challenges. A sea of information on water!
This tour takes you around the island of Laval to discover the many facets of its rivers. Wetlands, beaches, conservation areas, mills and dams, water stations or simply magnificent riverside landscapes... what else are our rivers hiding? The route includes stops at historic sites and river access points. The activity can be enjoyed by bike, car, motorcycle or on foot, using the "Rallye des Rivières" mobile app, which makes the experience a fun, interactive game for adults and children alike.
The water trail: from river to river
A permanent exhibition at the C.I.EAU, Le chemin de l'eau: de la rivière à la rivière takes visitors on a journey through ten themes, following the path of water in the urban environment. Modules featuring interactive activities and discoveries illustrate the evolution of drinking water treatment, from its capture in the river, through the many stages of purification and distribution, to its use in the home. For the whole family aged 6 and over.
A history of water quality
The exhibition tells the story of wastewater treatment in Quebec from the early 20th century to the present day, and its impact on water quality in rivers and the St. Lawrence River. Take a step back in time and discover how clean water can be restored and the technologies of the future! To round things off on a high note, a virtual reality excerpt from a visit to a drinking water production plant awaits you!
