Laval and festivals—it’s a match made in heaven! Located just outside Montreal, easily accessible by metro, and full of energy, it’s the perfect destination for fully enjoying major festival events. And this early summer is living up to its predecessors, with an amazing and diverse lineup.
For this23rd edition, the Festival Rencontre Théâtre Ados promises a program focused on mental health. Over the course of two weeks, eight theatrical productions will tackle the theme in their own way, before the eager eyes of the 7,000 visitors expected to attend. A golden opportunity to introduce teens to the performing arts and to collectively raise awareness about a subject that is still often considered too taboo.
As May begins, science takes center stage at the 24 Hours and More of Science. Under the theme “Telling the Story of Science!”, explore landmark discoveries in history, attend lectures, or participate in exciting science competitions. With a provincial scope, this science extravaganza promises to be truly inspiring.

Once upon a time, there was the Middle Ages. It was the age of fortified castles, knights in armor, kings and queens, and peasants who toiled the land with sweat and, often, at the cost of their lives. It was also a period marked by the Crusades, epidemics, Gothic art, and courtly literature. It is a chapter of history that has left a deep imprint on the collective imagination.
This year, for its21st edition, the Medieval Passion Fair will pay tribute to this era that continues to inspire so much interest. From all corners of Quebec, thousands of visitors will gather at Place Bell to meet numerous artists and artisans active in the historical reenactment community who love sharing all the facets of the Middle Ages. Contests, shows, exhibitions, games, and activities are on the agenda. Put on your period costumes and come experience this immersive event.
Art, in all its forms, is a source of wonder for people of all ages. However, the earlier we are exposed to art, the more likely we are to learn to love it and eventually find it indispensable. Isn’t art as a driving force in life a wonderful goal?
The Petits Bonheurs Festival, which has been held in Laval for 14 years, works toward this goal. Its mission: to introduce children ages 0 to 6 to the joys of culture. Once again this year, the festival, in collaboration with the Maison des arts, presents a rich and diverse program including: theater, music, dance, storytelling, visual arts, circus arts, and more!
Wine, the nectar of the gods with a history dating back over 6,000 years, is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world! Wine and spirits enthusiasts, connoisseurs of pleasure and flavor, the Laval Wine and Spirits Festival is sure to be right up your alley. This event, taking place this year at Place Bell, will bring together over 50 exhibitors offering festivalgoers more than 100 tastings. To discover unexpected pairings, surprising products, and exhibitors whose history is as rich and fascinating as their products, this is THE festival to mark on your calendar.
The16th annual Laval Firefighters’ Big Party will be held on the outdoor grounds of Collège Montmorency. Easily accessible (hello, public transit), the festival will welcome families in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. On the agenda: more than 200 firefighters and fire prevention inspectors will be on hand to participate in various activities, such as a fire truck parade, information and prevention booths, demonstrations of firefighters in action, fire-themed shows, and more.
Don't miss this spectacular event—and especially the legendary Laval Firefighters’ Run to benefit the Quebec Firefighters Foundation for severe burn victims. Whether you run or walk, take on the challenge and complete a 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 21.2 km, or 42.2 km course!
