Description

An up-and-coming Irish playwright, a Hollywood star actor and a well-established English director are brought together for the London premiere of a long-awaited play. But their first meeting, at the dawn of rehearsals, doesn't go exactly to plan... each with a different, strongly held view of the issues addressed in the play. How far are they prepared to go to get their way?

This savory black comedy, with its deftly chiseled dialogue, tackles the thorny issue of cultural identity and the all-consuming ambition that sweeps everything in its path. It also sheds light on the ravages of over-inflated egos, the phenomenon of "mansplaining" and false feminism - that which is adopted for the sake of expediency.

Northern Ireland-born playwright David Ireland is best known for his award-winning play Cyprus Avenue. La Licorne discovered him in 2014, as part of the Événement Québec-Écosse.
