The 7th edition of the Laval Beer Festival from July 14 to 16, 2023 at the Centre de la Nature
Laval, May 9, 2023 - For the 7th edition of the FESTIVAL DES BIÈRES DE LAVAL, the actor and author Alexandre Goyettea proud spokesperson for the event since its inception, is delighted to invite the public to come and enjoy the beautiful days of summer, from July 14 to 16 next at Center de la Nature de Laval. Among them, 10 new microbreweries will be taking part in the festival for the very first time.
In addition to being an event of discovery and tasting, the Laval Beer Festival's mission is to educate festival-goers about the world of brewing, while promoting exchanges with brewers from the four corners of Quebec. Microbreweries, local products, cider mills, distilleries, street food trucks and more will be on hand to offer a diverse range of products.
MUSICAL PROGRAMMING ON THE LOTO-QUÉBEC STAGE
Comment Debord will take to the stage on Friday, July 14 at 8pm. Since its formation in 2016, the band has been delivering groovy, laid-back rock. Fred Fortin and his bandmates Gros Mené will follow at 9:30pm. With big riffs and blues put through the wringer, the band will offer songs from their most recent album as well as a few classics from their repertoire.
On Saturday at 8pm, singer-songwriter Rachel Leblanc's Vanille project takes to the stage with its 60s-inspired folk-draped songs. Then, at 9pm, it's the turn of Acadian artist P'tit Béliveau. It's with this sense of knowing a little more about what he's doing that P'tit Belliveau launched his second full-length, Un homme et son piano, on April 1, 2022 via Bonsound. Connected to his fans via live streaming platforms like Twitch, on which he notably shapes beats, the artist continues to combine the rustic and the electronic with a natural ease that never ceases to amaze.
On Saturday at 6.30pm, we'll have the chance to discover the Homebrew Remedy group, swinging between ragtime and American folk. On Sunday at 3 p.m., it's the turn of chansonnier JF Prud'homme to get us dancing.
A SENSE OF HUMOR TOO
Comedy shows will also be presented on the Loto-Québec stage. On Friday at 6:30 p.m., the festival will welcome the excellent comedian Mélanie Couture, accompanied by none other than Erich Preach. Comedian, author and novelist Mélanie Couture is a pro at unabashed stand-up. With her background in sexology, she tackles any subject with an iron fist in a velvet glove.
A dancer and entertainer, Erich turned to comedy a few years ago. He has accumulated stage experience by taking part in numerous comedy evenings and podcasts. To this day, he continues to perform as a duo with Aba and Preach.
LA FESTIVALOISE - OFFICIAL BEER OF THE LAVAL BEER FESTIVAL
The official beer, La Festivaloise, of the 7th edition of the Festival des bières de Laval will be the fruit of a collaboration between the microbrewery Dieu du ciel! and Les Insulaires Microbrasseurs. It will be available in early June at numerous points of sale across Quebec.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
The family zone will be back with entertainment, more inflatable games, face painting, and plenty of fun for young and old alike! The Randolph Animation team will be on hand with their giant games. Maniax will be offering axe-throwing, and we'll also be counting on the presence of iSaute Laval. An introductory circus workshop will be held on Saturday, and mascots Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach will be on hand at noon on Sunday for a cuddle session.
A hot sauce competition will be presented by La Pimenterie on Saturday at 5pm. Real hot sauce fans are invited to register in advance for the challenge.
This year's program includes a number of lectures and workshops by renowned beer experts, highlighting beer and local produce pairings. What's more, festival-goers can discover the art of the brewing trade with a live beer-brewing demonstration at the Moût International kiosk.
