Regional Tourism Partnership Agreement - Nearly $318,000 to support tourism projects in the Laval region

QUÉBEC, Dec. 6, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec government, in collaboration with Tourisme Laval, is pleased to award $317,956 in financial assistance to support the realization of ten tourism-related projects in the Laval region.

Caroline Proulx, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions, Benoit Charette, Minister of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change, Minister responsible for the Fight against Racism and Minister responsible for the Laval region, and Geneviève Roy, President and CEO of Tourisme Laval, made the announcement today.

The funding comes from Component 3 of the 2020-2022Regional Tourism Partnership Agreement (RTPA ).

  • A $50,000 grant to Centre de création Cavalia was recently announced as part of the same EPRT program for the Laval region.
  • The purpose of the EPRT is to coordinate the actions of the Ministry of Tourism, regional tourism associations and other partners, to enable the implementation of projects to develop the tourism offer.
  • EPRTs aim to allocate tourism industry investments according to local priorities, and to strengthen the synergy of all regional partners.
  • Projects supported under part 3 of the EPRT must fall into one of the seven categories described below. More substantial projects to adapt to the new health context are also eligible in each of these categories:
    • attractions, activities and facilities;
    • studies;
    • structuring the regional tourism offering;
    • accommodation;
    • festivals and events;
    • consulting services;
    • digital development.
