"What a pleasure it is to welcome back the Fête de la famille to the Centre de la nature this year! We're delighted to invite Laval families to take part in the multitude of free activities and shows on offer over the Labour Day weekend. It's a great way to celebrate the end of summer in style.

A variety of activities to suit all tastes

A wide range of cultural activities and shows for young people will be on offer, including well-known artists such as Arthur L'Aventurier, Maria Cannelloni, Les Petites Tounes and La Tournée des 400 coups by FLIP Fabrique, as well as a number of travelling artists. In addition to shows, inflatable games, circus workshops and face-painting, thrill-seeking activities will be available to all, including a hebertism course, rock-climbing and the popular zip-line.

Science and technology enthusiasts will not be left out, as they will be able to try out activities from the Studio des Bibliothèques de Laval, make scientific discoveries and attend a special performance by chemist and host Yannick Bergeron. They can also take part in a lecture by Bryan Perro, a science fiction and fantasy author renowned worldwide for his various works, including Amos Daragon. The Bibliomobile will also be on hand.

Four zones to discover

The site will be divided into four main zones, each packed with activities for the whole family.

  • Zone Turbulence: the place to be for those who are not afraid of a little adventure! In addition to a zip-line, rock-climbing and a hebertism course, participants will have the chance to discover graffiti art, create music and watch participatory dance performances.
  • Playground zone: the large playground will be packed with inflatable games for children's enjoyment. The zone will also feature strolling characters, circus workshops and a make-up area. A photo booth will enable those who wish to do so to immortalize their visit to the 21st edition of the Fête de la famille, and a giant games area will be available. To cool off, just look out for the big top... Surprises guaranteed!
  • Little Geniuses Zone: children will go from discovery to discovery. Several enriching activities will encourage them to rack their brains and learn more about the world of technology, literature and science.
  • Village des arts zone: singing and animation shows at the Centre de la nature will charm audiences with their rhythmic universe full of musical vibes.

Street closure

On September 4, a section of Avenue du Parc will be closed to traffic, and some nearby streets will be closed to parking, to allow the festivities to run smoothly and safely. Local residents will have access to their homes at all times upon presentation of proof of address.
