Grand return of open houses at Laval barracks
Laval, September 28, 2022 – Fire stations across Laval will open their doors to the public on Sunday, October 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held as part of Fire Prevention Week, October 9 to 15, during which the theme developed by the Ministry of Public Safety, "You are the first responder!", will once again be celebrated.
Of the nine fire stations strategically located throughout the region, eight will allow young and old alike to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to meet firefighters in their workplace. Everyone will be able to discover the equipment, discuss the profession of firefighter and that of prevention inspector.
"The open house is a unique opportunity to meet the exceptional employees of the Laval Fire Department. It's a festive experience where you can see the facilities up close and ask questions about different aspects of the job."
— Sandra Desmeules, member of the executive committee, city councilor for Concorde–Bois-de-Boulogne, and head of public safety
Prizes to be won
Participants will have the chance to win a 72-hour emergency kit. This kit provides basic necessities in an emergency situation while waiting for help to arrive.
