Open house returns to Laval fire stations
Laval, September 28, 2022 - On Sunday, October 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., fire stations across Laval will be reopening their doors to the public. The event is part of Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 9 to 15, and once again celebrates the Ministère de la Sécurité publique's theme "Le premier responsable, c'est toi!
Eight of the nine fire stations strategically located throughout the region will give young and old alike the opportunity to meet firefighters in the field. Everyone will be able to see the equipment, and talk about the firefighter's job and that of prevention inspector.
"The Open House is a unique opportunity to meet the employees of the Service de sécurité incendie de Laval. The experience is festive and you can see the facilities up close while asking questions about facets of the job."
- Sandra Desmeules, member of the executive committee, Concorde-Bois-de-Boulogne city councillor responsible for public safety
Prizes to be won
Participants will have the chance to win a 72-hour emergency kit. In the event of an emergency, this kit will provide basic necessities until help arrives.
