LAVAL, QUEBEC (THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2021) @ILLUMICAVALIA - The world's largest multimedia sound and light tour returns to Laval for a completely renewed third edition, filled with never-before-seen tableaux and thousands of new, larger-than-life light structures. ILLUMI - NOUVELLE FÉERIE DE LUMIÈRES will welcome visitors on foot and by car from October 28, 2021 with its SPECIAL HALLOWEEN, continuing this unique family tradition to the delight of young and old alike. From October 28 to the end of November, visitors can enjoy the world's brightest Halloween celebration. They'll be able to enjoy themed worlds through the Nouvelle Féerie de Lumières, with monsters, ghosts, witches, thousands of pumpkins and soundtracks from classic horror films that are sure to give goosebumps.
THE UNBELIEVABLE FOREST returns for a guaranteed scare in an even more impressive format. Hundreds of colorful skeletons and spine-tingling monsters take over this illuminated forest trail, in what appears to be a forgotten graveyard that comes to life as night falls. In a space twice the size of the previous edition, LE MONDE DES CITROUILLES features over 2,000 jack-o-lanterns of all shapes and sizes staring down at visitors with their fiery eyes in this orange world.
Among the universes revealed this year, visitors will have the pleasure of discovering SPLASH OCÉANIQUE, the most extensive painting, which takes young and old into a dazzling ocean splash as a carpet of lights brings this marvellous beach to life. Powerful waves up to 7 metres high and 60 metres wide are generated by high-definition images, cradling sea creatures before breaking in front of astonished visitors.
LE ROYAUME JURASSIQUE will also undoubtedly enchant. This vast plain is home to dozens of prehistoric creatures. Some 50 gigantic dinosaurs - including no less than 18 animated T-Rexes, velociraptors, brachiosaurs and triceratops - roar into the night to protect their sacred and abundant land.
Visitors will be transported by THE BONBON STORM. On a most unusual stormy evening, a shower of oversized sweets fell on Illumi to the amazement of visitors. Decadent cakes, ice cream cones made for Giants, huge lollipops and sweets of all kinds are now part of the illuminated adventure. A gingerbread house has even been blown by strong winds into the middle of this heap, straight out of a child's dream.
Those who experienced the magic ofILLUMI last year will be delighted to learn that some of the most popular tableaux, including LES CHEVAUX CAVALIA, LA FORÊT MAGIQUE and LE MONDE DES NEIGES, will be back in force in even bigger and more spectacular versions. And let's not forget the famous ILLUMI TREE - the largest tree of lights of its kind in the world, which can be seen from over a kilometer away - which will return twice as bright, to the delight of visitors and onlookers alike. At the end of November, theILLUMI will be installed for the holiday season, with several thousand winter-coloured light structures.
For the 2021-2022 season, Cavalia presents an all-new Illumi in which the vast majority of universes and light structures are never-before-seen creations. The third edition ofILLUMI features no fewer than 19 tableaux, including 14 fantastic new universes . A total of 25 million LED bulbs give life to thousands of dazzling structures. Illumi offers a veritable epic, an imaginary adventure for young and old alike. Visitors travel along spectacular paths, on foot or by car, into new, even more impressive worlds.
A hundred workers have been busy setting upILLUMI for several months now, to offer an extraordinary and surprising experience for those who have never experienced the magic of ILLUMI , and for the million visitors from all over the country who were amazed by the first two editions.
Cutting-edge programming technologies, high-definition projections that defy the boundaries of reality and animatronic Jurassic creatures that plunge visitors into scenes worthy of Hollywood films make Illumi the must-see event of the year in Quebec.
In order to control the flow of visitors and ensure a pleasant visit without congestion on the site, a limited number of admissions are available per evening, per time slot (every 15 minutes) and per type of experience. And sinceILLUMI welcomed nearly 500,000 visitors during its second edition, it is tickets must be purchased in advance and book them online to get access to the date, time slot and experience you want.
Since its world premiere in Laval in 2019, ILLUMI has generated phenomenal attendance. The million visitors registered at the turnstiles have made this multimedia project, conceived by Normand Latourelle and his team, the most popular and busiest ticketed event of its kind in Canada.
