Launch of the 2021 winter season

Self-guided activities begin at Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles

Laval, January 21, 2021 - A new year means new adventures. The Éco-Nature team is pleased to launch the winter season at Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles starting today, January 21. Outdoor enthusiasts visiting the Park will be able to take part in a range of self-guided activities that are sure to warm their hearts.

A first: activities at the Garrot riverbank
In a major first this winter, Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles will be offering all its winter activities from the Garrot riverbank, located behind its Exploration Centre, to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for its loyal visitors. Among the variety of autonomous activities taking place in nature, the Park offers access to its skating rink, slides for young and old, and later, ice fishing and three walking and snowshoeing trails as soon as the river is icy and safe.

Accessible activities
In order to respect social distancing during busy periods, the skating rink and slides will be available to a limited number of visitors for blocks of 2 hours, starting at 9am. This will enable a greater number of people to enjoy the facilities, while respecting public health guidelines.

Families won't be outdone, either, as Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles offers them heated cabins to rent on site, where they can store their belongings, change clothes and keep warm. Hut rental times are the same as for other activities. On-site rental subject to availability.

Essential services
The Exploration Centre's facilities, such as the toilets and the Archipelago café, will also be available to visitors. Visitors will be able to replenish their energy and warmth by choosing from a range of sweet treats to take away.

This winter, discover the magical world of Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles under the snow and explore the wonderful Rivière des Mille Îles from a whole new angle. Visit the Park's website and social networks to find out about current activities and those to be added over the course of the season.
