Laval enhances its BIXI offering with 2 new stations and 15 new bikes

Laval, July 28, 2020 - As BIXI's first full season gets into full swing in Laval, 2 stations and 15 standard bikes are being added to the territory. The new stations and their equipment will be in service from Wednesday, July 29 at these Laval-des-Rapides locations:

  • On avenue Legrand, at the intersection with boulevard Cartier Ouest, in front of the Émile-Nelligan library;
  • On boulevard Robin, at 15th Street.

These additions enhance the initial fleet, bringing the total number of stations to 6 and the total number of bikes to 55, 40 of which are electric-assist. Laval joined BIXI, the second largest bike-sharing network in North America, in October 2019.

Contributing to active mobility

The introduction of BIXI in Laval is designed to encourage efficient, active and sustainable mobility, and is therefore in line with the main thrusts of the strategic vision Urbaine de nature. Growth is expected in the longer term, and based on a 10-year projection, the number of bicycles on offer could approach 350.

The BIXI season began on April 15 and will continue until November 15.
