C.I.EAU presents : Welcome to Eauville, an immersive water experience

The Centre d'interprétation de l'eau de Laval invites the public to an unforgettable day of adventure, discovery and awareness-raising about water and climate change on Saturday, August 12 on the Berge des baigneurs in Laval.

Laval, July 27, 2023 - With more and more Quebec municipalities facing water-related issues this summer, the Center d'interprétation de l'eau de Laval (C.I.EAU) is offering a festive day of discovery and awareness-raising about the resource and climate change, to answer questions raised by issues such as overflows, flooding, water shortages and reduced water quality, all of which are greatly amplified by climate change.

At the turn of 1916, the Berge des baigneurs de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles was a popular vacation spot. On August 12, starting at 10 a.m., C.I.EAU invites Eauvilloises and Eauvillois to ask themselves: why has the water become unsuitable for swimming, and what can we do together to remedy the situation?

For the occasion, a captivating immersive experience awaits participants on the Berge des baigneurs, with fun activities, scientific animations and a large exhibition that will enable everyone to understand and contribute solutions to restore better water quality while having fun.

Bienvenue à Eauville (Welcome to Eauville ) also offers young people and teenagers the chance to meet professionals working in the water industry, and discover the many opportunities available in this field.

As part of the festivities, Laval's science museums will be joining the C.I.EAU: Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille Îles | Éco-Nature with its "Incroyable mais vrai!" exhibition and activities, the Musée de la santé Armand-Frappier and its new "À vos marques, prêts... boirez de l'eau!" activity, and Cosmodome , which will be accompanying us through to the Perseids evening.

The Centre d'interprétation de l'Eau is pleased to present Bienvenue à Eauville, a project made possible thanks to the Fonds régions et ruralité program of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation.

"Our government is proud to financially support the Centre d'interprétation de l'eau de Laval in its initiative to raise public awareness of water-related issues arising from climate change. We are all closely affected by these challenges. Organizing an interactive family day on this subject is a great way of raising awareness and improving the quality of this vital natural resource," says Andrée Laforest, Minister of Municipal Affairs.
