Laval, February 10, 2022 - With business tourism set to resume on February 21, Tourisme Laval reminds us that companies across Quebec interested in applying to the Business Tourism Development Fund have until March1, 2022 to do so.

In addition, Tourisme Laval is offering an informative webinar to find out more about the FDTA:

  • February 17 2022 at 10 a.m.
  • 30 minutes
  • Presented by Maïthé Levasseur, Knowledge and Strategy Manager, Tourisme Laval
  • Registration: [email protected]
  • The Zoom link will be sent to participants upon receipt of their registration.

The FDTA was officially launched last December by the Quebec government, and its management has been entrusted to Tourisme Laval. It has a budget of $2.5 million.

The creation of this fund is intended to stimulate renewed growth and contribute to the revival of business tourism, an economic sector of the utmost importance to the tourism industry. For event organizers, financial assistance can cover up to 50% of eligible expenses, or a maximum of $25,000. This support for corporate meetings, conventions and trade shows in 2022 is part of our efforts to boost this business segment. The vitality of this market is essential, as it generates spinoffs for all Quebec communities, including the chain of suppliers to these events.

The main objectives of the FDTA:

  • Boosting demand for business events in 2022
  • Support business event organizers: associations, organizations (NPOs or NPOs), cooperatives and corporations in Québec
  • Mitigating the rising costs of the pandemic
  • Contribute to the adoption of responsible and sustainable practices
