The Business Tourism Development Fund: 2nd Call for Proposals

 

Laval, February 10, 2022 — With business tourism set to resume on February 21, Tourisme Laval businesses across Quebec interested in applying for financial assistance from the Business Tourism Development Fund that they have until March1, 2022, to do so.

The FDTA was officially launched last December by the Quebec government, and its management was entrusted to Tourisme Laval. It has a budget of $2.5 million.

The creation of this fund aims to stimulate renewed growth and contribute to the recovery of business tourism, an economic sector of the utmost importance to the tourism industry. For event organizers, the financial assistance provided can cover up to 50% of eligible expenses or a maximum of $25,000. This support for hosting business meetings, conventions, or trade shows in 2022 is part of the efforts to boost this sector. The vitality of this market is essential, as it generates economic benefits for all communities in Quebec, including the supply chain for these events.

  • Boosting demand for business events in 2022
  • Supporting organizers of business events: associations, organizations (for-profit or nonprofit), cooperatives, and corporations in Quebec
  • Countering the rise in costs caused by the pandemic
  • Help promote responsible and sustainable practices
