Third call for projects and extended admission date for events

Laval, March 9, 2022. -Tourisme Laval wishes to inform companies throughout Quebec interested in submitting a financial application to the Fonds de développement en tourisme d'affaires (FDTA) of the launch of a third call for projects, which will run until 5 p.m. on April 8, 2022.

In addition, the eligibility date for events has been extended to March 31, 2023. Eligible events must require a minimum investment of $50,000 and generate a minimum of 40 nights' accommodation in commercial establishments located in Quebec.

Launched by the Quebec government, the FDTA has a budget of $2.5 million and is managed by Tourisme Laval. For event organizers, financial assistance can cover up to 50% of eligible expenses, or a maximum of $25,000. This support for corporate meetings, conventions and trade shows is part of our efforts to boost growth in this sector.

                                             

FDTA's main objectives:

  • Stimulating demand for business events
  • Support business event organizers, i.e. Quebec associations, organizations (NPOs and NPOs), cooperatives and corporations
  • Offsetting the rising costs of the pandemic
  • Contribute to the adoption of responsible and sustainable practices

Main eligible costs :

  • Certain fees 
  • Event-related rental costs
  • Food services
  • Costs related to sanitary measures put in place for the event
  • Costs of adopting best practices in sustainable development and social responsibility
  • Accommodation costs for employees, volunteers and event organizers
  • The non-refundable portion of taxes related to eligible costs
