The Dunamis Gala - A success for 40 years!
Laval, November 11, 2021 - Yesterday marked the fortieth edition of the Dunamis Gala organized by the Laval Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILaval). Tommy Pelletier, General Manager, Desjardins Entreprises - Laval - Laurentides, was honorary chairman of the gala, where 14 of the 61 finalists walked away with the prestigious trophy.
Hosted by Karima Brikh, the event, which took place at the Château Royal, was enthusiastically received. "Laval's entrepreneurial ecosystem is highly adaptable and dynamic. It brings together companies from sectors of excellence...". In general, what stands out about Laval is the vigour, boldness and innovative character of its business community," said Lucie Lecours, Minister for the Economy, who was on hand at the gala to congratulate Laval businesses and entrepreneurs on their contribution to the economic development not only of Laval, but of Quebec as a whole.
A gala to take the time
To mark its 40th anniversary, the Dunamis competition has been completely revamped. The registration process and the receipt of entries were made easier, the categories were redesigned and the image completely revamped. The gala was a reflection of all this renewal. The importance of the message; taking the time to highlight the efforts of companies and entrepreneurs who work with perseverance on the region's economic development because, after all, they are the gems of Laval's business community. "40 years of history for the Dunamis gala also means 40 years of working together to raise the profile of Laval's business community. Beyond our desire to drive our economy forward, we must also take the time to recognize excellence and congratulate ourselves," says Caroline De Guire, President and CEO of CCILaval.
A first for the "Grand Prix Reconnaissance de l'Année" award
To better reflect today's reality, the categories have been revised to be more representative of Laval companies, entrepreneurs, businesses, industrialists and manufacturers. For the first time, the Chamber also presented the "Grand Prix Reconnaissance", an award whose criteria reflect Laval's entrepreneurial spirit and current events. This year, the prize was awarded to a company that has demonstrated exceptional resilience since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. Of the five finalists, Présentation Design won the first edition of this award.
It was also in an atmosphere of recognition that the winners took to the stage to collect their Dunamis trophies. "The winners in the 14 categories, as well as all the finalists, are inspiring businesses and entrepreneurs who are working to make our local economy an invaluable asset," says Anne-Marie Éthier, Chair of the CCILaval Board of Directors.
Congratulations to all the winners.
You are the gems of Laval's economy.
