A Winter of Music: The Laval Symphony Orchestra announces its Winter Classical Festival for the third consecutive year in January 2024
Laval, December 12, 2023 — The Laval Symphony Orchestra (OSL) returns for a third consecutive year with its Winter Classical Festival from January 26 to 28, 2024, at Salle André-Mathieu. During this magical holiday season, the Laval Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present the perfect gift for classical music lovers: a pass granting access to three exceptional symphonic concerts, all for just $93 (taxes included).
The Orchestra will kick off the event with its “Nordic and Interstellar Legends” concert, a unique musical experience that blends Nordic legends reimagined by Wagner and Tolkien with an exploration of some of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of all time: *2001: A Space Odyssey* and *Star Wars*, all under the baton of Maestro Jean-Michel Malouf.
The following evening will feature an exceptional musical performance, blending the timeless charm of Baroque works with the bold creativity of 20th-century composers. The highlight of this event will be Stravinsky’s ballet Pulcinella, presented in its entirety—a rare treat—with orchestra, singers, and dancers, all conducted by the eminent Laval-based conductor Andrei Feher.
To close out the Festival, the Orchestra will present its family concert, *Histoires dessinées*. Drag queen Barbada, known for her charisma and exceptional storytelling talent, will transport the audience into the fascinating world of Peter and the Wolf. Her vibrant and expressive narration will bring the beloved characters of this classic musical tale to life, creating an immersive experience for young and old alike.
Richard Vallerand, a leading figure in the world of comics, will add a masterful visual dimension to the concert by illustrating Respighi’s *Peter and the Wolf* and *The Birds* live on stage.
Make this holiday season a symphony of memorable moments. To reserve your tickets for the Festival, visit the Laval Symphony Orchestra’s website at www.osl.ca or contact the box office at 450-667-2040.

During the summer season, the Orchestra takes the opportunity to connect with the public and offer outdoor concerts.
In 2016, the Orchestra launched the Bébé Musique series, an initiative that allows new parents to attend a dress rehearsal with their youngest children. In addition to its concerts, the Orchestra also offers a variety of educational activities for students in elementary, secondary, college, and university. In 2013, the Conseil québécois de la musique awarded the Orchestra the Opus Prize for Young Audience Production of the Year. The Orchestra is also deeply committed to supporting emerging talent, particularly through its Préludes series and its Laval-Laurentides Youth Orchestra, which showcase the musical talents of young people in our community.
