A winter of music: the Orchestre symphonique de Laval announces its third consecutive Winter Classical Festival in January 2024
Laval, December 12, 2023 - The Orchestre symphonique de Laval (OSL) returns for a third consecutive year with its Winter Classical Festival from January 26 to 28, 2024 at Salle André-Mathieu. In this enchanting holiday season, the Orchestre Symphonique de Laval is pleased to present the ideal gift for classical music lovers: a passport to three exceptional symphony concerts, all for just $93 (taxes included).
The Orchestra will open the ball with its concert Nordic and Interstellar Legends, an original musical concert fusing the Nordic legends revisited by Wagner and Tolkien with an exploration of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of all time: 2001, A Space Odyssey and Star Wars, all conducted by Maestro Jean-Michel Malouf.
An exceptional musical evening follows the next day, combining the timeless charm of Baroque works with the bold creativity of 20th-century composers. The highlight of the evening will be Stravinsky's ballet Pulcinella, presented in its entirety, with orchestra, singers and dancers, conducted by the eminent Laval conductor Andrei Feher.
To round off its Festival, the Orchestra will present its Histoires dessinées family concert. Drag queen Barbada, renowned for her charisma and exceptional talent as a storyteller, will transport audiences into the fascinating world of Peter and the Wolf. Her vibrant, expressive narration will bring the beloved characters of this classic musical tale to life, creating an immersive experience for young and old alike.
Richard Vallerand, a leading figure in the world of comics, will add a masterly visual dimension to the concert with live illustrations of Respighi's Peter and the Wolf and The Birds.
