Laval, May 1, 2023 - TheOrchestre symphonique de Laval (OSL) is proud to unveil its 2023-2024 season on Tuesday, May 2 at 12:00 pm.

Jean Letarte, musical advisor :

"It is with great enthusiasm that I have prepared for you, music lovers and friends of the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, a season rich in emotion. Conceived under the banner of variety, it offers a program where the great classics of the symphonic repertoire rub shoulders with interesting discoveries, and where renowned conductors and soloists share the stage with the most representative artists of the rising generation."

This year, the Orchestre symphonique de Laval has more than just entertainment in store for its audiences, with a tribute concert dedicated to the 100th birthday of Greek singer Maria Callas, followed by a fundraising event. The Winter Classical Festival returns for a third season, featuring Stravinsky's ballet Pulcinella with opera singers and dancers from the Jardins chorégraphiques. The Festival will also offer audiences the tale of Peter and the Wolf, narrated by the dazzling Drag Queen Barbada and brought to life by illustrator Richard Vallerand. As part of the Festival, the Orchestra is once again offering its Bébé musique concert, where young and old alike can attend the dress rehearsal of the Nordic and Interstellar Legends concert. For several years now, the Orchestra has been offering its chamber music series Les Chambristes, usually held at Église-Saint-Maurice-de-Duvernay, but this time it will take place in four different venues, including Église Sainte-Dorothée and Église Saint-Pie-X. These concerts will give carte blanche to musicians from the OSL and the Chœur de Laval to perform a varied repertoire of their own choosing.

Like the 2022-2023 season, the 2023-2024 season will once again breathe new life into the Orchestra, as it presents a series of conductors promoting artistic excellence both in Quebec and internationally, including Thomas Le Duc-Moreau, Andrew Crust, Simon Rivard, Julien Proulx, Jacques Lacombe and Jean-Michel Malouf. It will also be the return of conductor Naomi Woo, who led the Women's Concert on March 8, 2023 as part of International Women's Rights Day, which was a huge crowd-pleaser.

For this season launch, there are three important dates to remember. Subscribers to the 2022-2023 season will be able to re-subscribe from May 2 to May 16, 2023. For new season ticket holders, the period begins on May 16, and single tickets can be purchased from June 6, 2023.
