LAVAL, QCLAVAL, QC, April 9, 2024 /CNW/ - Espace Montmorency partners MONTONI, Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Montez Corporation are proud to announce the opening of the new Courtyard by Marriott® hotel in the heart of Laval's new downtown core. Located at 500, rue Lucien-Paiement, the hotel features 188 rooms on 10 floors, a signature restaurant and an open-air bar.
This $45 million hotel project is backed by a group of investors including MONTONI, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Cogir and Urgo Hotels & Resorts Canada, which will also manage the hotel. The company is the Canadian subsidiary of HHM Hotels, internationally renowned for its expertise and the quality of its management.

New destination for corporate customers
Demand from business travelers is growing steadily in the metropolitan area, and in Laval more specifically. Connected directly to the Montmorency metro station by an underground tunnel, the Courtyard by Marriott® Montréal Laval hotel meets this growing demand by becoming a destination of choice for corporate clients wishing to organize a convention in Laval or for business travel.
In addition to access to all the services of the Espace Montmorency complex, the hotel offers a business center for meetings, individual workspaces, reception rooms, a restaurant, an open-air bar, exclusive terraces, access to EM's 60,000 sq. ft. verdant courtyard, as well as access to the complex's indoor parking. The location of the new establishment is ideal for business customers, being connected to Montreal and just steps away from the Palace Convention Centre and Place Bell.
LEED Gold certifications
Espace Montmorency was designed in line with rigorous environmental values to become a benchmark mixed-use development project for the future. Commitment to the principles of sustainable development was an essential driving force in bringing this project to fruition. Today, these measures have resulted in energy savings of over 50%, representing a 92% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions thanks to the integration of an energy loop into the complex.
Espace Montmorency was awarded LEED Gold certification for the development of its quarters. The partners also aimed for LEED Gold certification for the hotel's shell and core, enabling :
- Water savings of 45
- Use of 15% recycled materials
- 35% regional content
