Who is High Klassified?
I'm a hip hop composer/producer, a Quebec beatmaker who still lives in his mom's basement...where my studio is!

What's your hidden Laval treasure?
Definitely
D1 Barbershop. A warm, welcoming, family-friendly (yes, kids are welcome!) barbershop with a classic yet modern decor and a relaxed atmosphere. Here, you quickly become everyone's friend, a member of the family in a way.

Danny, the owner, and his team of barbers all have attention to detail and customer service tattooed on their hearts. In fact, one day when I was on location for a shoot, three barbers were after me to make sure my hair was perfect! That's the spirit of D1 Barbershop. It's more than a place, it's a soul.

Is it fair to say that you're a "regular here"?
I'd be lying if I said no, because I come at least every 10 days. And when I have to go to jet-set events, I come more often. Sometimes I even stop in just to say hello to the gang, have a good coffee and a chat.

Why do you keep coming back to D1 Barbershop?
It's for the whole package: the experience, the cozy atmosphere, the precision, the thoroughness, the employees, the friendliness. We may be in a more masculine environment, but Danny still took care to create a "princess" corner for the one and only hairdresser on the premises. She has a pink barber's chair and a more girly mirror. Now that's what I call being considerate to your employees!

Tell me about Danny, the owner?
I've known Danny since high school. When he opened his barbershop about a year and a half ago, it was clear that I was going to be one of his good customers. His professionalism and precision are his trademark. For example, even if my haircut is finished and I'm about to leave, if he notices a small flaw, I'll have to get back in the chair so he can correct it and everything will be perfect.

If you had to introduce someone to your hidden treasure, what would you say?
Simple! If you want to look good, at an affordable price and in typical barbershop surroundings, D1 is the place. Attention to detail is everywhere... even in the barber chairs, which date back to 1910. What's more, it's easily accessible.

If you had to introduce Laval to a foreigner in a few words, you'd say?
Laval is a city of comfort. It's like Montreal, but quieter. You don't have to wait in long lines to go to restaurants. It's great! It's the perfect balance... not too hectic and not too quiet either. We also have everything to suit everyone's needs: restaurants, entertainment, shows, sports.
