This year, experience Easter in a different, more fun way. We've put together a list of original things to do with friends and family over the long weekend. But don't worry! Even though we've come up with a few different ideas, we've kept chocolate at the heart of our suggestions. After all, at Tourisme Laval we know what we're talking about!
Daring wine and chocolate pairings
As an aperitif or after-dinner drink, a wine and chocolate pairing is a perfect addition to the agenda. Of course, you can also go to the restaurant for a complete gastronomic experience. However, it's also possible to do your shopping in Laval and treat yourself to an evening at home to discover, for example, the subtle pairings between the flavors of carefully selected wines at Château Taillefer Lafon. Château Taillefer Lafon and chocolates from Les Minettes | Marchandes de Gourmandises.
An evening in workshop mode
Biting into chocolate is good! What's even better is to get your hands dirty, as in the expression "mettre les mains à la pâte" ("getting your hands dirty"). Celebrate and honor chocolate by signing up for thechocolate initiation & tasting workshop at Mam'zelle Joséphine! On Thursday and Friday evenings (for everyone aged 14 and over), you'll make discoveries, taste, crunch and observe chocolate from every angle. It's a family affair!
Putting the "egg in your mouth
Eggs and Easter go hand in hand. Usually, we have fun decorating them, but what about cooking them? And there's no end to the ways in which you can cook them, literally. Mirrors, fried, turned, soft or in an omelette, the possibilities are endless. To accompany our culinary masterpieces, with cheese, herbs or produce, we take a trip to the farm. Agneaux de Laval or the Fromagerie du Vieux St-François. Of course, you can always go for a chocolate egg!
Creating an air of spring
Easter is synonymous with rebirth. And what better embodies this concept than spring? So, to bring the warm weather into our living rooms ahead of time, let's head for the boutique. À la Boîte à Fleurs to stock up on fresh (or synthetic) flowers and create stunning floral arrangements. And why not make a few more and give them to loved ones? While we're at it, we'll spoil ourselves with a box of fine chocolates and a great cup of coffee to energize us for the rest of the day.
Giving in to the pleasure of Commie hunting (since we insist on it)
All right, it's a cliché. But Easter egg hunts are great fun, especially with the whole family. But to keep our promise of originality, we first invite you to choose a location that's out of the ordinary, like Bernard-Landry ParkPark Sainte-Dorothée WoodsBois Papineau WoodsBois Bois de l'Équerreor the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles. Then, clues or riddles are hidden to lead participants to the final location, where ALL the chocolate eggs are! They don't have to be chocolate... but it's better all the same (according to our team of gourmands)!
Visit the rabbits
Easter and rabbits are a perfect match. For the pleasure of seeing these cute little furry creatures, we head to the farm of the Center de la nature de Laval. As a bonus, you'll be able to observe other animals and slide, ski or skate along the way. After all, vacations are also a time for fresh air and lots of fun.
