Admire fall colors in Laval

Autumn is just around the corner and it's time to enjoy some beautiful days outdoors. At this time of year, the Tourisme Laval team suggests a detour to the region's green spaces. Hiking can be a great way to burn off some energy, while enjoying the fresh, clean autumn air.

The Nature Center

Unique to Laval Nature Center is a large 50-hectare urban park. In any season, it's the ideal place for nature lovers to contemplate beautiful landscapes and family activities. In autumn, the colors are breathtaking and the weather is still perfect for a picnic with family, lovers or even friends.

Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles

Located in Sainte-Rose, the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles includes a peaceful walking trail for exploring the flora and fauna in autumn. It's called the Hibou trail, and it runs along the river from the Garrot bank to the Baigneurs bank. The Café de l'Archipel is located at the park entrance, where you can choose your lunch from energizing lunch bowls, gourmet sandwiches and decadent pastries. Refreshing drinks and autumnal coffees are also served.

Papineau Woods

Located in the heart of Duvernay, theBois Papineau is of remarkable beauty. Just by setting foot in this wooded area makes us forget that we are in the centre of the third largest city in Quebec. This wooded area has a great characteristic: it is a beech forest, which means that the beech is predominant. Also, this two-hundred-year-old wooded area is home to a very diversified ecosystem, which makes hiking all the more captivating. The hiking trails allow visitors to walk easily through the woods. There is even a cottage and restrooms available for walkers. Located at 3235 Saint-Martin Boulevard East, Papineau Woods is well worth a visit.

Bernard-Landry Park

Crossed by the Route Verte, Parc Bernard-Landry, located on the banks of Rivière des Prairies, offers an astonishing number of hiking trails. The 30-hectare park is home to an ecology interpretation trail. Along the 32 information kiosks, young and old alike can learn more about the role citizens can play in protecting natural environments.

The banks of Laval 

Surrounded by water, Laval offers magnificent riverbanks to admire the autumn colors. Take a stroll along the shore and enjoy a cup of coffee at the Berge des Baigneursstop for a picnic or take a last sunbath on the beach of the Berge aux Quatre-Vents.
