Strolling through some of Laval's parks, you may have noticed metal and concrete structures of all kinds, symmetrical or asymmetrical bars, ladders and benches of varying heights.
This street furniture was inspired by the hebertism courses of our childhood, but we've updated it so that it can be used for functional training, which lets you work the whole body using your own weight as resistance. With Trekfit, there are no dumbbells, just fluid movements that call on several muscle groups at once.
These modules are accessible to everyone at all times, perfect in times of pandemic. There's no need to book: just turn up at the park to train. It's user-friendly and creates a sense of community among users.
In addition to basic training, TREKFIT also opens up a whole world of possibilities, as you can add accessories to the modules to vary your sessions. For example, you can work with medicine balls or attach TRX or AK-type straps (from Quebec-based company La voie athlétique), which enable a wider variety of exercises.
Each park is unique, with circuits ranging from 6 to 16 stations, each with a sign explaining the exercises proposed, which can be completed at one of two levels (low or high intensity).
In addition, TREKFIT offers a free app for locating facilities and choosing from programs suitable for adults, seniors and wheelchair users, whether for fitness, weight loss, aerobic, anaerobic or resistance training.
