Plant lovers? 3 must-see greenhouses!

Spring has FINALLY sprung, and we're glad the snow is melting! Like every year, warmer temperatures and softer winds also herald the arrival of the first buds, bringing nature back to life!

Whether you're into gardening, houseplants or even collectible green plants, you've come to the right place. I've discovered three PAR-FAITS spots in Laval for all green lovers.

It's no secret that I'm a crazy plant lady myself! For some years now, I've been accumulating and collecting houseplants, from the tiniest succulent to the grandest Monstera. Anyone who comes to visit us will be able to confirm: I'm now the owner of a little jungle!

First stop: Charbonneau the Expert

Late March is the ideal time to start sowing. Haven't planned this step yet? Don't panic, Charbonneau L'Expert already has thousands of seedlings growing in the warmth of our greenhouses . As well as being the experts in this field (as their name suggests!), they have no shortage of choices for your annuals and some beautiful exotic specimens like sublime orchids.

As soon as I arrived, I was charmed by the little pond at the entrance to the greenhouse, where an adorable turtle is basking. The owner confirmed that for over 60 years, this family-run business has been providing its customers with healthy vegetable and herb plants, as well as the widest choice of flowers to beautify any type of property. If you need inspiration for your landscaping, Charbonneau L'Expert is just the place!

Second stop: Serres Cléroux

Entering Serres Cléroux is a journey in itself! The friendly staff are passionate about what they do, and it shows. Here, you're sure to find everything you' re looking for in terms of variety. Whether for the garden or indoors, thousands of products are available for EVERY taste. I immediately had so many gift ideas... oops!

The huge space is divided into categories, making it easy to find your way around, but be warned: you can easily spend several hours here, because everything is so pretty! But what about this incredible decor? I certainly felt like I was in Costa Rica or Thailand, so it's well worth going there for a happy dose of change of scenery.

Third stop: Serres Lavoie

Attention TRUE rare plant enthusiasts: this is for you! Les Serres Lavoie are the absolute experts when it comes to hard-to-find varieties. I had a hard time not spending hundreds of dollars there... ALL the plants on my wishlist are there! They offer, among other things, a great selection of giant cacti, plants that look like they came straight out of a fantasy movie and even variegata succulents. This impressive selection leaves no one indifferent, and the staff are trained to help you choose the perfect plants to brighten up your spaces according to the brightness of your rooms.

The section near the tills is great for those who want to give small gifts related to the world of plants, without necessarily buying one. A lovely selection of pots and other unique items made by artists caught my eye. You can tell they've got an eye for the little details, and that's what makes us love going back - they've got something new all the time!

If after reading this you don't want to buy even a tiny cactus... Then I'm not convincing enough! Ha! Ha! I loved my visits to these three greenhouses, and highly recommend them: plant shopping really is like zen therapy. What's more, it's so gratifying to see them grow under our care.
